Cruise Ship Diving with PADI & Princess Cruises

THE LOVE BOAT is now setting sail with lots of lovers...of scuba diving. Worldwide industry leaders PADI International and Princess Cruises recently joined forces to form one of the most ambitious scuba diving programs ever launched. It's the ideal combination of cruise ship travel and diving.

A pioneer of modern cruise travel, Princess is widely credited with bringing the concept of cruise vacations into the mainstream, an effort aided when its ships starred in the popular television series, The Love Boat.

Several Love Boats now offer 'New Waves' scuba and snorkel programs. Divers can now explore the underwater world on varied Caribbean itineraries, as well as enjoying all of the amenities of cruising.

Cruise ship diving with PADI and Princess offers a great way to visit several dive destinations in style. At least two PADI-sanctioned instructors are on board for each sailing and can help with all of your equipment, training, and diving plans.

Programs range from snorkeling to an array of dive certifications and specialty courses, as well as many planned dive excursions for certified divers. Ports like Grand Cayman and Cozumel make the Love Boats a great base for divers of all experience levels. You may not see Captain Stubing underwater, but you're sure to experience some great diving and cruising.

"The New Waves program is a natural partnership and an exciting opportunity," says PADI's Brian Cronin. Along with providing an ideal way to pursue initial or specialty certifications, the New Waves program has proven quite popular with non-diving spouses and other family members who can enjoy a cruise and possibly pursue a snorkeling or introductory scuba program.

"The New Waves program is designed to maximize passenger enjoyment," echoes Rick James at Princess. For divers, their ship has definitely come in and it's a Love Boat. Bon Voyage!
