New world-class daily fee course comes to New England
This May, Boston-area residents and visitors will welcome a new public layout to the New England region. Just 45 minutes south of Boston and eight miles from Cape Cod, Pinehills Golf Club is set to become a world-class daily fee destination.
The
complete story
Pinehills Golf Club will eventually boast two new 18-hole championship layouts designed by Rees Jones and Nicklaus Design (opening spring, 2002). In addition, one of the most extensive practice facilities in New England and three different golf schools will enhance the experience.
The Rees Jones course is typical of his designs, with rolling topography, valleys, swales, and elevated tee and green sites. Its sure to enhance his reputation for designing natural golf courses with a classic feel right from the start.
Opening in conjunction with the first course, the large clubhouse will offer panoramic vistas, a pro shop, locker rooms, outdoor terrace dining, the Grille Room, banquet and function facilities, and more. The practice facilities include a double-ended driving range with both natural grass and artificial turf tees, bunkered target greens (with traps), numerous putting greens, and separate chipping areas. State-of-the-art instruction will also be available through the Pinehills Golf Academy, the Dave Pelz Short Game School, and the Scott Sackett Golf Academy.
Opening next spring, the Nicklaus Design course will offer a totally different experience, with a more wooded site of stately white pines providing the backdrop and topography.
