New Ohio Amish Country course now open

Secluded in the heart of Ohio’s Amish Country, yet within easy driving distance of several major cities, Millersburg’s new Black Diamond Golf Course is now open.

Located in the area of the nation’s largest Amish community, Black Diamond features the rolling hills and stunning scenery that first attracted the Amish.

The complete story

This brand new par-72 public course is set in the middle of Ohio’s quiet Amish Country, yet it’s just 70 miles northeast of Columbus, 5 miles south of Cleveland, and just 30 miles south of the Akron/Canton Ohio Regional Airport.

The rolling layout covers more than 200 acres of countryside and 22 acres of water, with dramatic views and elevation changes throughout. The playing surfaces on tees, fairways, and greens is bent grass, with bluegrass for the rough. There’s a complete modern irrigation system to keep everything green.

The Black Diamond Golf Course also features a full-service clubhouse and pro shop, a driving range, and a 12,000-square-foot chipping and practice putting green (including a sand bunker and targets). Rental clubs, covered golf carts, and introductory or intermediate golf lessons are also offered.

The immediate Holmes County area features many hotel options, as do the highways leading from Cleveland, Columbus, and the Akron/Canton area.
